Shooting Squirrels

So...yesterday I posted about how I need to work on achieving a better balance in my life. I think I spend too much time on "things" that are not very productive. Here is one of the things that I devote way too much time to!

Watching and photographing the critters in my yard.

This is Stasher Sid
He spends most of his time,
collecting peanuts from the squirrel feeder I have in yard,
then burying them.
Then he uses a lot of time and energy trying to find them again.
Which he rarely does.

Now this guy, Sam the Stealer is a lot smarter. He doesn't bother stashing or hunting.
He just raids the bird feeder peanut tube.

And then there is Fluffy Chubbo  Chubby Fluffo...
who I expect finds, gathers, and eats
every peanut that the other squirrels have lost,
and collects every single one of them from the feeders...
as soon as I fill them.

Okay, enough time spent on these guys!
I'd better move on to what's next on my schedule...photographing the birds at the feeders!

CHEERS!

  2. One of their cousins invaded my space again, but I think he moved out -- I don't hear any noise above me today. Maybe he heard you were taking photos and wanted his pic, too!
    Peace,
    Muff

  6. Yes, your Canadian guys are a lot darker than the ones in the Eastern U.S. There is an occasional black one, which always thrills me, as well as an albino one I saw scampering across our yard last year. Wish he'd become a regular visitor at our feeders/birdbaths. I love that you've named them!

  8. Hi Kim,
It's not so much of a waste of time, just takes up so much time watching them!

    Hi Muff,
Nothing worse than squirrels in the attic!

    Hi Judy,
They bring smiles to my face too, probably why I watch them so much.

    Hi Jan,
We have lots of colours here, but the black ones are aggressive and shoo the others away from the feeders.

    Hi Bree,
Yes they are! I saw Stone this morning!

    Hi Ms. CrankyPants,
    An albino squirrel, that's unusual!

    Hi EC,
They make for lots of smiling faces.

    Thanks for stopping by everyone.
